About the Class
The Positive Psychology and Advanced ADHD Coaching Master Class is for coaches with experience working with individuals with AD/HD who are looking to gain more knowledge and skill in working with the adults with ADHD population and who want to apply the principles of positive psychology to their ADHD coaching. This is an thirteen-hour class. In order to take this class, a student must have taken the 12 hour Positive Psychology and ADHD Coaching class or get the permission of the trainer. Prerequisite: Positive Psychology and ADHD Coaching Class or permission of trainer.
At the conclusion of this class, each participant will have built on their toolkit of practical interventions and have the opportunity participate in mentor group coaching. Each class member will coach an individual with ADHD of their choosing and get feedback on your coaching from the instructor and other class members. Throughout the class, the principles of positive psychology will be highlighted as they apply to each coaching population.
In this interactive class, participants are required to bring cases of individuals with AD/HD they have worked with in coaching or other helping interactions. We will use these cases to elaborate on the many approaches one can take when working with this population. Class members will also practice coaching utilizing role-playing.
Learning Objectives
• Continue to develop the coaching skills necessary to apply to be certified at the entry level of ADHD coaching.
• Effectively use the principles of positive psychology while coaching adults with ADHD.
• Build ADHD coaching skills through mentor group coaching
• Deepen knowledge of the biological bases of ADHD and the phenomenological experience of individuals with ADHD.
• Build on a toolkit of practical interventions to use with clients with ADHD symptoms or with clients who have challenges with organization, prioritization, time management and relationships.
Resources:
Alan Graham will provide a rich and varied reading list of books, web sites and other resources to help support an ADHD Coaching practice. Homework will be assigned. Class members will have regular reading assignments and create at least one recording of a coaching session with and adult with ADHD. This recording will be shared with the class and the coach will receive feedback on their coaching. Also, as part of homework, class members will coach each other in role playing situations.

Continuing Education
This class is approved for 13 hours of CCEUs from the International Coach Federation for students meeting the class attendance requirement.This class is also approved for thirteen hours of CEs (continuing education units) for social workers (NASW) and Marriage and Family Therapists in California (BBS).
